Family Fun

My dad flew in from Oklahoma over the weekend so I thought it would be the perfect time to throw a family party. All of my brothers, sister and their families came. It was really nice to have my parents back in Utah, with them being so far away they don't get to see their grandkids much. Parris and I had everyone come to our house on Friday night for a bbq. That night we ate, played games and Parris set up his projector so we could watch a movie outside. Saturday morning we surprised everyone with breakfast( we wanted to put their breakfast in front of their bedroom door, kinda like they do at the Anniversary Inn; but some of the family got out of bed before Parris and I had time to make the drop off). After breakfast we went to our swimming pool and hung out. It was so much fun having everyone come and stay. I love my family and I love that all of the new cousins can get together and play.

Collyn is obsessed with the Wiggles, Parris set up his movie screen outsides so all of the kids could watch the Wiggles before it got too dark. My camera started to run out of batteries so I only got a little footage of the kids dancing.

Girls Camp

Last week was Girls Camp and I was so excited to go. It was a great experience and being new in the ward this was a great way for me to get to know the girls and leaders. I love the young women's program and was thrilled to be called as the Laurels adviser and camp adviser. I will never forget all the great memories I made while at Girls Camp, like Heidi and I winning the 3 leg race but everyone telling us we cheated, or Chalyses' face when she thought she was making it to home plate for the first time while playing baseball with a crushed up pop can(too bad she was actually out, she just didn't feel the pop can hit her in the back as she was running home.)

This year was ward camp so we were able to borrow a tee pee for all the girls to sleep in. The first night the leaders put on a skit and gave all the girls Indian names.

* Who has more friends? Me, I make friends wherever I go. Parris is more close to his brothers and I guess that's all he needs.

* Who wears the pants in the family? Doesn't the wife always wear the pants in the family?!! :)

Parris wanted me to add that he does all the yard work and pays the bills which makes us even since I have to do all the dishes.

Happy Fathers Day!!

I just wanted to do a quick post to say happy Fathers Day to Parris, he is a great dad and husband. I don't tell Parris enough how much Collyn and I appreciate everything he does for us. Collyn loves his dad and all the fun things they do together like dancing to Elvis, watching basketball or playing basketball. Thanks for all that you do for both Collyn and I, We love you!!

Also, happy Fathers Day to my dad. I have a lot of great memories of him teaching me how to throw a ball and telling me not to tell my mom cause she didn't want me to play sports. My dad was my basketball coach and softball coach and I loved every minute of it. Thanks for being a great dad. I love you!!

Our Home

After about 2 months of living in our house things are finally starting to come together. Our Saturdays consist of painting, cleaning and yard work. There are a few more rooms to paint, but other than that the place is looking pretty good.
